What is the BME Mentorship Program?

The BME Mentorship Program is a volunteer program that directly helps the department by fostering inter-departmental, college/school, and university community by raising awareness of campus opportunities and resources, providing a reliable and helpful resource for freshmen, and helping them succeed in a new environment.  The BME Mentorship Program is organized into “families” where an upperclassman will mentor at least one freshman mentee with the potential of an additional sophomore mentee.  Thus, at the end of the academic year, it is expected that sophomore mentees will become upperclassmen mentors for the next academic year.  Members in AEMB are required to serve as mentors, although mentors do not have to be part of AEMB.
